Rolling Garment Bag A Great Choice for Traveling

Being of nearly sound mind and an old body, traveling by any means is sometimes difficult for me. But since I am a pilot, flying is like second nature. I have been flying since I was fourteen and I am as anxious to jump in the plane now as I was then, It just takes me a little longer to get to the plane than it did then.

One of the things that has changed, is the way we pack and in what. I have to tell you that rolling garment bags have become one of my most favorite pieces of luggage. They are wonderful.

If you are not familiar with garment bags, you are in for a treat. They are travel bags that are designed to carry your hanging clothes in a matter that when you arrive at your destination, the clothes are actually wearable.

I am sure that they grew out of the old two suiter luggage that was made for the traveling salesman. But now, the garment bag has been totally redone. The luggage can be soft leather or wildly colored hard side spinner luggage. They are great to travel with, and pack your clothes in and there is always room for other things.

The inside is generally divided into the hanging area, with side pockets for the soft folding clothes. Ours have a large zippered sleeve on one side of the external which works well for sweaters and such. The other side has two smaller sleeves in which shoes fit perfectly. Socks slide in next to the shoes, so all those bulky things are not messing up the hanging clothes.

One thing to be aware of is that this bag is gender oriented. That is correct - they are not PC bags. A "Ladies" bag is longer than a 'gentleman's'. I would guess that this is due to the fact that women wear longer coats and skirts than do men (the Scottish kilts, I suppose).

Some of the garment bags have a companion hanging hook to carry briefcases or a makeup bag.My makeup bag has a side that I can open and then slide the handle of the garment bag. It is very handy to have both bags under control with the same handle. Of course, do not over load your bags; that only make it more difficult to pull along behind you.

Traveling Office as Well

If you are traveling with a computer, you will have it all. There is room in a rolling office to handle the few things than do not fit in the garment bag. You are off to the world of business in style or off on a vacation with your hanging clothes tucked neatly away inside your garment bag.

If you are curious, http://rollingbags.net leads to a selection of all types of rolling travel bags.

quester.ltd,

WOW! What a terrific travel bag. I want one and I am going to get one. Thus, I have bookmarked this hub so I can do just that in the near future.

Thank you for publicizing this very special piece of luggage.

That would have been of interest to me once. Now, all I pack is shorts, jeans and T's, plus scuffs and maybe a robe. And the little pieces of course. But nothing that needs ironing or creases; I hate suits, ties and business shirts. Well, Diogenes - the real one - lived in a barrel and didn't bother with clothes. But your article is a good one and thanks for following me; I shall follow you, too: perhaps you'll publish something for barrel dwellers along the way...Bob

thanks diogenes - yes I know the barrel but I like your wardrobe better. I think as we get older, we are more comfortable in our own skin.

Thank you for the follow and I see what I can dig up for you...

Tumi makes great leather luggage and very supportive handles on which you could hang your hubby's bag - just a thought.

I love the Tumi leather luggage - none better but a little on the expensive side. However, considering the age of my bags, maybe they are not so expensive after all . . . LOL

I must admit that I too am a lover of the Tumi leather bags - I doubt if I will ever need another bag - my girls as have asked who gets the luggage and the cookbooks. Good to know why you are loved!

Thanks for your time and comment
