A truck box can dress your bed so that it remains neat and organized. Your tools are safe from both the weather and from growing legs and walking away.

The styles are from a simple box to very elaborate styles, textures and paint jobs. You can find truck boxes in black, white, silver, stamped aluminum, matching body colors and even (wait for it:) PINK! And whoever said pickup trucks were just for men?

Another View of a Gull Wing Truck Box

Another view gives you a clear picture of the usability of this design. This does not prevent you storing long tools in the box, you simply slide the tool in one side and you can pull it out from either side.

You can see the space underneath the box, that is so you can still slide sheets of plywood or such in the full length of your truck's bed without a problem. (That is assuming that you could do that before you mounted the box!)

Still other boxes use a single lid and that gives to an unobstructed view of what you have in the truck box. Most truck toolboxes come with a sliding removable drawer that holds smaller things like boxes of screws or such.

Swing Case

This is one very clever idea for a truck box. First it is shaped to go around the wheel well and then it is on a hinge so that you can swing it out to where you are sitting or standing near the tailgate. On top of that, it is portable!

On the weekend when you are going to a tailgate party, you can fill it with ice and cold drinks. Since it is made of high grade ABS, it is waterproof, inside or out. So when you have tools in the swing box and it rains, your tools will be safe and dry. If you fill it with ice, which melts, you will not have rivers of cold water streaming from the box's resting spot.

Anyway you look at this swing case, from the right side or the driver's side. this is one great truck tool box!

Keep Your Best Friends Safe
Keep Your Best Friends Safe

It is scary to watch a pickup barreling down the highway with a dog or two loose in the truck bed. Being a dog owner, I know how much our dogs love to have their faces in the wind, but keep them safe. There are many different types of dog boxes or kennels that will allow the dog to have as much fresh air and still keep them safe.

When you stop at the store for that loaf of bread, rest assured that your best friend will still be in your truck when you come out with your bags; since no cat or stranger can encourage your dog to leave your truck.

All in all, there are many different types of truck boxes that you can use in your truck. Work or play, your 'stuff' will be safer and protected in a truck box of your choosing.

I agree with what you said about having dogs in the truck bed. There was someone in Louisiana whose 2 dogs leaped out of the truck after the saw an animal on the side of the road...devastating. Great kennel ideas

Thanks for your comment mpouche4 - I have seen too many animals hurt jumping out of a truck bed or hit by a road rock to take a chance with our animals.

I love the idea of the Truck Box and wish they had been around when I was on the road working. I think I would have gone for the Gull Wing box. It does seem very versatile. Rated up and shared !
